'Ice Kingdom' won the 'Best Documentary Film of the Year' award at the 19th China-US Film Festival

LAPost San Gabriel (November 1, 2023)-The world's largest ice and snow theme park-'Harbin Ice and Snow World: The documentary' Ice Kingdom ', which records the birth of this magnificent ice and snow kingdom, won the' BEST DOCUMENTARY Golden Angel Award of the Year 'at the awards ceremony of the 19th China-US Film Festival in 2023 on the evening of November 1. Also winning the award was 'Beijing 2022', the official documentary of the Beijing Winter Olympics produced by Zhang Yimou and directed by Lu Chuan.

Guo Shaochun, Consul General of the Consulate General of China in Los Angeles, attended the award ceremony and delivered a speech. Yang Guorui, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Radio and Television of China, and Zhao Meixin, U.S. Congressman, delivered speeches at the award ceremony via video. The documentary 'Ice Kingdom' lasts 85 minutes and is filmed by the Propaganda Department of the Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee, the Propaganda Department of the Harbin Municipal Party Committee, the Radio and Television Bureau of Heilongjiang Province, and the Heilongjiang Film Studio. Qi Binying serves as the director. During the filming process, the concept of 'lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, and ice and snow are also invaluable assets' was fully implemented, making full use of the unique resources and advantages of the Northeast region. The film brings together Chinese and foreign film production teams. After four years of hard shooting from 2019 to 2022, it tracked, recorded and interviewed tens of thousands of front-line ice builders, and truly recorded the legendary story of ice builders working in severe cold conditions. It took 15 days to build a world-shaking ice and snow kingdom.

The documentary 'Ice Building Kingdom' is filmed and produced in a documentary manner, and then uses a review of the historical sources of ice buildings and the parallel montage of the ice building site to closely connect the past and reality, lead the audience to a beautiful fairy tale kingdom, and show the world the beautiful ice and snow world on the black soil. In 15 days, about 10000 people will build a 600,000-square-meter ice and snow world. The ice and snow here embody the efforts of countless participants, only to bring tourists the most memorable perfect memories. The documentary 'Ice Building Kingdom' shows the hard work and mental journey of the builders in the Ice and Snow Kingdom from a macro perspective. Focusing on the development of ice buildings in Harbin, it takes the rich ice and snow natural resources and profound ice and snow cultural connotations in northern China as an art form of film documentaries. Show it to the audience. By praising the excellent qualities of the pioneers and builders of ice construction who are brave in innovation, selfless dedication, not afraid of hardships, not afraid of difficulties, loving the motherland, and prospering their hometown, it demonstrates the good spiritual outlook of Harbin people.

The 19th China-US Film Festival and China-US Television Festival kicked off in Los Angeles, USA on November 1. Nearly 600 people from the Chinese and US film and television industry, government officials, and representatives from all walks of life attended the opening ceremony and the 'Golden Angel Award' ceremony. More than 500 film and television works participated in this China-US Film Festival and China-US Television Festival.
